Art Market Budapest, the leading international art fair in central and eastern Europe, is set to feature about 100 art galleries and exhibitors from 30 countries. It will showcase artwork from four continents, including the Far East for the first time. Attila Ledenyi, the event’s founder, stated that the fair goes beyond being just an art fair, as it also serves as a platform for shaping image and promoting culture. This year, the spotlight will be on contemporary Roma art, design, fine arts, and visual culture in the digital age. Ledenyi highlighted the strong presence of galleries from the Far East, as well as exhibitors from the United States, South America, and South Africa. Hungary will be represented by close to 50 exhibitors featuring about 300 artists. Additionally, the fair will feature Art Photo Budapest, the only international photo art fair in the region, to honor Hungary’s special relationship with photography. The fair has attracted a quarter of a million visitors over the past decade. The 13th Art Market Budapest will take place from Thursday until Sunday at the Balna cultural centre.
